Why Booster conversion actions show "No attempted imports with user-provided data"

What this Google Ads warning means on the ProfitMetrics Booster conversion actions, and why it does not need fixing.

Google Ads flags the ProfitMetrics Booster conversion actions with a warning that reads No attempted imports with user-provided data. The warning is expected. ProfitMetrics does not send customer details to these conversion actions on purpose, there is no way to switch the warning off in Google Ads, and it has no effect on your tracking, your reporting or your campaign performance. This article explains why it appears and why it is safe to leave alone.

Where you see this warning

This warning only ever appears on the Booster conversion actions. It is not shown on the Browser conversion actions, which work differently. In Google Ads you will find it under GoalsConversionsSummary, by selecting the conversion action and opening its diagnostics.

Conversion action Previous name
PM Gross Profit - Booster PM Gross Profit - Conversion Booster
PM Revenue - Booster PM Revenue - Conversion Booster

Older accounts use the previous names. They are the same conversion actions and behave in exactly the same way. Depending on how your account was set up you may see the warning on the Gross Profit action, the Revenue action, or both.

Why the warning appears

User-provided data is Google's term for customer details — usually an email address or a phone number — that are sent to Google Ads, so Google can match the order to a signed-in Google account. Google checks each conversion action for this data and flags any action that has not received any in the last seven days.

ProfitMetrics never sends customer details to the Booster conversion actions, so Google finds none and raises the warning. The check has no way of knowing this is deliberate, and Google Ads has no setting to dismiss or hide it.

What the Booster does send with each conversion is a click identifier, and nothing else that identifies the customer:

Identifier What it is
gclid The standard Google Ads click ID, added to the landing page address when someone clicks an ad.
gbraid Used on iOS traffic in place of gclid, for clicks that are taken to a web page.
wbraid Used on iOS traffic in place of gclid, for clicks that are taken to an app.

A click identifier links the order back to one specific ad click, which is all Google needs in order to credit the conversion to the right campaign.

Why no customer details are sent to the Booster

ProfitMetrics uses two conversion actions together. The Browser action records orders that were tracked in the customer's browser at checkout. The Booster is sent extra conversions directly from ProfitMetrics, filling in the orders the browser missed — blocked scripts, refused consent, browser tracking prevention, and so on. Between them, each order should be counted exactly once.

Adding customer details to Booster conversions would give Google a second way to match an order to an ad click, on top of the click identifier. That raises the risk of Google creating a conversion in the Booster for an order the Browser action has already recorded, and the result would be inflated conversion numbers.

Sending click identifiers only keeps the match narrow and predictable.

What to do about it

Nothing. There is no action to take and no fix to apply:

  • Google Ads has no option to dismiss, hide or acknowledge the warning, so it stays on the conversion action permanently.
  • Sending customer details would clear it, but would reintroduce the risk of duplicate conversions, so ProfitMetrics does not do this.
  • Bidding, attribution, reporting and campaign performance are all unaffected.

NOTE: Genuine problems appear in the same diagnostics panel as this one, so check which conversion action a warning is attached to before acting on it. On a Booster action, this particular warning is expected.

Troubleshooting

Symptom Check
The warning is still there weeks later Expected. It is not temporary and will not clear on its own, because nothing will ever be sent that satisfies the check.
The warning is on a Browser conversion action, not a Booster one That is a different situation and is not covered here. See What to do if your conversion actions show a "Needs attention" warning.
Your conversion actions are named "Conversion Booster" Those are the older names for the same conversion actions. The behaviour described here is identical.
The Booster is recording very few conversions Unrelated to this warning. Most orders should sit under the Browser conversion action, with a smaller number under the Booster — that split is normal.
