SETTING UP MULTIPLE SHOPPING BOOSTERS FOR MULTI-MARKET FEEDS IN PROFITMETRICS
When running multi-market or multi-language campaigns (e.g., selling across Denmark, Sweden, and Spain) within a single Google Merchant Center (GMC) account, each market often has its own primary feed label.
Because each ProfitMetrics website profile (CSID) supports one active Shopping Booster configuration, running independent performance bucketing (Heroes, Sidekicks, Villains, Zombies) for each market requires an isolated Shopping Booster instance.
This guide outlines how to configure secondary "mockup" website profiles in ProfitMetrics to generate market-specific Shopping Booster supplemental feeds.
Architecture & Requirements
- No Storefront Tracking Needed: The secondary website profiles are used purely for Shopping Booster feed analysis and supplemental feed generation. You do not install tracking scripts, theme app embeds, or e-commerce modules on the secondary site.
- Identical Item IDs: Because Google Merchant Center supplemental feeds map onto primary feeds using
id, product IDs in your market feeds must match the product IDs evaluated by ProfitMetrics. - Platform-Specific Setup:
- Standard Platforms (WooCommerce, Magento, PrestaShop, Custom/Universal): You can create an additional website profile directly under your existing ProfitMetrics customer account (CID).
- Shopify: ProfitMetrics Shopify accounts are strictly mapped 1:1 to a Shopify store domain. Because additional virtual websites cannot be created within a Shopify-linked CID, you must create an additional standalone ProfitMetrics customer account specifically for the secondary Shopping Boosters.
Step-by-Step Configuration
Step 1: Create the Additional Website / Account
- For Non-Shopify Platforms:
- In the ProfitMetrics dashboard, navigate to Sites (or Account Settings).
- Click Add New Website.
- Enter the market-specific site name (e.g.,
Store Name - Spain Booster) and the corresponding store URL.
- For Shopify:
- Reach out to ProfitMetrics Support or create a separate, unlinked ProfitMetrics account (CID).
- Name the account specifically for the additional market booster (e.g.,
Brand - ES Booster).
Step 2: Connect Google Ads and Merchant Center
- Navigate to Integrations > Connections > Google Ads on the newly created website profile.
- Connect the Google Ads account that runs the advertising for that market.
- In Shopping Booster > Settings, connect your Google Merchant Center account.
Step 3: Select Language and Feed Label in Shopping Booster
- In the Shopping Booster setup wizard, go to Language and Feed Labels.
- Select the specific Feed Label and Language corresponding to the target market (e.g.,
EUR-ES-ES/ Spanish). - Set up your custom performance rules, ROAS/POAS thresholds, and margin tiers specific to that regional campaign strategy.
- Save and generate the supplemental feed URL.
Step 4: Link the Supplemental Feed in Google Merchant Center
- Log into Google Merchant Center.
- Go to Products > Feeds > Supplemental feeds and click Add supplemental feed.
- Name the feed (e.g.,
PM Shopping Booster - Spain). - Select Scheduled fetch and paste the supplemental feed URL generated by ProfitMetrics.
- In the feed settings under Target feeds, select only the corresponding market primary feed (e.g., check
EUR-ES-ES, leaving other markets unchecked). - Click Fetch now to process the labels.
Best Practices & Troubleshooting
- Check Feed Label Casing: Google Merchant Center feed labels are case-sensitive. Ensure the label selected in the ProfitMetrics wizard matches the GMC label character-for-character.
- Fetch Frequency: Set the scheduled fetch in Google Merchant Center to run daily, ideally 1–2 hours after the ProfitMetrics Shopping Booster generation time (usually early morning), so fresh product classifications sync before ad auctions begin.
- Ad Spend Attribution: Ensure the connected Google Ads account contains the campaign data for that market so the rule engine can accurately calculate cost and POAS for each item.
