What to do if your Offline Conversions show 'Needs Attention'

Google Ads often shows a false-positive warning on offline conversions, see below to see why this is okay

TL;DR: This can be ignored if these three checks are good:

  1. You are seeing most of your conversions come through as PM Browser, with a few coming in through PM Booster

  2.  Google Ads > Goals > Settings> Enhanced conversions for leads is enabled

  3. Google Ads > Goals > Settings > Enhanced conversions is enabled (this should be set to API if you are using a ProfitMetrics module, and to Google Tag Manager if your Conversion Booster is configured in GTM)

As long as those three are correct, you can ignore that message.

If you believe there is still an issue after reading below, please reach out to support@ProfitMetrics.io with screenshots of the error message, and of your Google Ads > Goals > Summary view showing all the PM Browser/Booster conversions.

You may see an error that looks like this in Google Ads:

That offline conversion error warning you are seeing is usually a false positive generated by the way we send all conversions for the conversion booster.

Common alerts in Google Ads that are not actually issues

Please ignore the error messages related to Enhanced Conversions and Data Quality, as shown by Google Ads. These alerts are false positives triggered by the way we interact with the Google Ads API when "Checking" if an order has been received in the Browser conversion actions when we try to update it.

We are aware that this can give a false impression that something is wrong, and we are working on an update to the Conversion Booster, which we hope will eliminate these alerts.

This is the most common reason why this alert is triggered:

Only some conversions are tracked by the "Browser" conversion actions. If an order has not been tracked, we try to update it anyway, and Google returns an error, which tells our system that the conversion was not tracked, and therefore, we send that conversion to the "Conversion Booster" conversion action.

Additionally, we send all conversions from a single website to all connected Google Ads Accounts. If you have one or more websites connected to one or more Google Ads accounts, it will also trigger an alert when we try to update the same conversion across multiple Google Ads accounts.

Another reason might be that Enhanced Conversions is enabled in Google Ads and ProfitMetrics, but no email is included with the order data sent to ProfitMetrics. This mainly only happens with our Universal Integration.

As long as ProfitMetrics receives customer emails, Enhanced Conversions is enabled in Conversion Booster for Google Ads, and "API" is selected as the source for Enhanced Conversions in Google Ads, there is nothing to worry about.

You can check this in Google Ads by navigating to:

Goals > Settings > Enhanced Conversions

In ProfitMetrics, navigate to:

Integrations > Connections > Conversion Booster for Google Ads.

These alerts are generally good, indicating that the Conversion Booster for Google Ads is working exactly as intended.
