What is: Enhanced conversion 'needs attention' due to a presumed user interface bug

We have had some clients inquire about an error that Google has started displaying after the rollout of consent mode version 2.

We have not made any changes to our enhanced conversion integration through the Google Ads API.


The first case displayed this error for 7 days.



After 7 days, the error disappeared, and later in the evening, it indicated 'Good.' We have not changed or done anything.

So, it resolved itself.


We have had a few more clients reporting this, and we have been in contact with Google Ads API support. After reviewing the logs, they confirmed that there is no error. However, they will not confirm or deny the existence of a bug in the user interface.


We have even had a client switch to enhanced conversion through GTM, not through Profitmetrics, and it still shows this error.




We can see it is 'active,' so it is collecting data from those who receive the 'needs attention' error. Thus, it is indeed collecting data.


It is a very small percentage of our customers who have this error. However, we have verified that everything is being sent exactly as it always has been, and Google has confirmed that we are sending it correctly.


So, we just have to wait and see if it resolves itself as it did in the other case."
