The verification section of the Conversion Booster page can show the message Political advertising declaration required for the campaigns listed below. with a list of your Google Ads campaigns underneath. This article explains what the warning means and how to clear it in Google Ads.

What the Warning Means

Google asks advertisers to declare, for every campaign, whether it runs political ads aimed at the EU. The campaigns listed in the warning have no answer recorded yet. Google can also block some changes to a campaign until the declaration has been made.

The declaration is set in Google Ads. Nothing needs to be changed in ProfitMetrics.

How to Resolve the Warning

Confirm the EU setting for all the listed campaigns in one go using the bulk edit option in Google Ads.

  1. Log in to Google Ads.
  2. Go to Campaigns.
  3. Select all campaigns.
  4. Click Edit.
  5. Click Confirm EU settings.
  6. Choose No, these campaigns don't have EU political ads.

NOTE: Only choose the "No" option if none of the selected campaigns run political ads in the EU, because Google doesn't serve campaigns declared as political in the EU.

Once the setting is saved, reload the Conversion Booster page and check the verification section again.

Troubleshooting

Symptom Check
The warning is still showing after you confirmed the setting Reload the Conversion Booster page and check the verification section again. If the same campaigns are listed, open them in Google Ads and confirm the setting was saved.
A campaign in the warning is missing from your Google Ads list Check that you are in the Google Ads account connected to ProfitMetrics, and that the campaign list isn't filtered by status or name.
Confirm EU settings isn't in the Edit menu Check that at least one campaign is ticked. The bulk edit options appear once campaigns are selected.
Some of your campaigns do run political ads in the EU Select those campaigns on their own and choose the option that says they do. Google doesn't serve those campaigns in the EU.
