How to enable "Enhanced Conversions For Leads" in Google Ads

There are 2 options for how to enable "Enhanced conversions for leads" in Google Ads. Follow this guide to enable it.

  1. Log in to https://ads.google.com and make sure you are on the right account
  2. Click "Goals"

  4. Click "Enhanced conversions for leads" (Not configured yet)

  5. Click "Turn on enhanced conversions for leads"

  6. Click "Select an option"

Now, you have two options:


Option 1: Google Tag (Recommended)

  1. Select "Google Tag"

  2. If you see the red message, click "Configure".
    If you see green message, skip to step 6.

  3. Click "Allow user-provided data capabilities

  4. Click to enable "Allow user-provided data" toggle

  5. Click Save

  6. If you see the green message, you can click "Save"

IMPORTANT:  For 'Option 1 - Google Tag' you will also need to ensure you have used the Google Ads tracking script provided during the Conversion Booster installation process. To find the script in ProfitMetrics please go to this page and click 'Install script/tag'.

If you are using a custom setup (not using script provided by ProfitMetrics), please ensure you have followed this guide from Google which describes how to setup Enhanced Conversions for Leads using the Google Tag.

 

Option 2: Google Tag Manager

  2. Click "Save"

IMPORTANT:  For 'Option 2 - Google Tag Manager' you will also need to ensure you have the User-Provided Data Event tag setup in Google Tag Manager for Enhanced Conversions for Leads to be fully enabled. Please follow this guide to setup your tag.

The tag created will look like the below example. Please ensure you load the User-provided Data Event on the same trigger as your Google Ads purchase conversion tags.
